Whenever I meet someone new, the first question I’m typically asked is, “How do you pronounce your name?” It’s “Kah Won Nee Ah.” As a little girl, I learned to help people pronounce my name by explaining that, “every letter in my name is pronounced.” I found that little tip did the trick.
By the way, I used to go by the nickname of “Kay,” but I decided to stop using it a couple of years ago. I didn’t make some big “P Diddy” announcement — I just stopped using it.
Hey! The next time we’re together, remind me to tell you a funny story about my name. (I love a good story and I cannot wait to hear yours.)
It All Started With a Phone Call . . .
I advised new business owners for YEARS without asking for a dime.
In 2017, I received a call from an event planner. Business was good for her, but she was ready to quit. Why? Well, she had been under the advisement of a business coach who essentially made her feel small for her choices. So, I spent the next three hours giving this planner a big pep talk and some solid business advice. She shared our exchange with her industry friends and the next thing you know, my phone began to ring off the hook.
I launched the Enlightened Creative because I wanted to create a safe space for business owners needing advice. Here is where you will receive trustworthy education based on decades of successful business management experience. And, this is where you will receive counsel without judgment.
