As business owners and creatives, we often get caught up in the day-to-day hustle and overlook the vital foundation of our business: the backend. Without a solid backend, we risk hitting a ceiling that prevents growth and efficiency.

When was the last time you checked the online listings of your business? I’m talking about the online listings that describe your business, showcase your work and link to your web site and social media accounts.
My “fan” found me on social media, and figured out how to find me in the classroom (twice). In the end, everything worked out okay. Again, I don’t think I was ever in danger, but it reminded me how incredibly vulnerable we are as we teeter between our “virtual lives” and our “real lives.”
Some may say that it doesn’t matter, but let’s call a spade a spade — using a @yahoo.com or @icloud.com or @gmail.com address makes your business seem a little less professional. And in a lot of cases, it is less secure.
Instead of using a service like LinkTree to connect your various web site urls to your social media accounts, such as instagram or facebook, create a hidden “splash page” on your own web site. Once you create the splash page, link it to your Instagram account or your Facebook account or your Pinterest account.
