“Check on your friends.” I have seen and heard this statement numerous times over the last two months.
Today, news reports announced that unemployment in the travel industry has hit a whopping 51%. That means more than half of the hospitality industry’s 15.8 million jobs have been wiped out in the U.S. due to the COVID-19 crisis. So. If there was ever a time for you to “check on your friends,” now is the time. And, when you ask them how they are doing, patiently wait for an answer. Then, follow up. Because a lot of your friends feel alone and depressed and anxious right now, and they could really use someone to “check in on them.” ❤️
