What You Need to Keep in Mind as You Determine Your Wedding Service Fees

As a professional wedding planner, it is easy to quote package fees to potential clients. But, is that wise knowing that every wedding is different? If you charge package pricing, you could actually eat up your entire profit margin. Yikes!

I get it — everyone doesn’t feel comfortable charging percentage pricing. But, if you are not going to charge percentage pricing, you should take various factors into account before you quote a fee to potential clients. Here are a few factors you should take into account:

  1. The number of hours you need to carry out the event leading up to the event and on the day of the event.
  2. The number of human resources you need (contractors and staffing) you will need to carry out the event beforehand and on the day of the event.
  3. The physical supplies and resources needed.
  4. The number of vendors you may need to manage for this event.
  5. The hours needed based on the unique needs of the venue (loading dock, additional security, etc)
  6. The distance from your office. Do you need to charge for mileage, airfare, and/or a hotel room?
